A Gâtinais farmstead, restored to host
The estate
Le Domaine de Solvins occupies the former farm buildings of the Château de Solvins, in Dadonville, in the northern Loiret, at the bottom of the green Œuf valley. The estate arranges its buildings — La Grange, La Plume, Les Écuries and La Maison — around one large enclosed courtyard. It is reached by a century-old avenue of plane trees running alongside the river, planted in 1770 by Fougeroux de Bondaroy.
In taking over the estate, Arnaud and Laura De Temmerman undertook a complete restoration: roofs and timber frames rebuilt, two reception halls fitted out, thirty beds created across the stables and the house, a 40 m² caterer's kitchen installed between the two halls.
The approach throughout: preserve the honey-coloured stone, the volumes and the beams, while bringing in the light, comfort and facilities of a place designed to host on a grand scale. Particular care has gone into the accommodation, conceived as a true extension of the estate experience: rooms and suites carefully renovated, where the quality of the beds, comfort and decor take centre stage.
A family story
Arnaud has spent the last ten years working within large agricultural groups, in a world he has always known: his parents are farmers, and for nearly thirty years have welcomed visitors to the farm through their agritourism business. Laura, for her part, has spent ten years in communications and event management within large groups.
Two paths that naturally came together after their own wedding, two years ago. From that experience, from their family history and from their shared love of hosting, the project of Le Domaine de Solvins was born: to imagine a place where people come to celebrate, gather, work, or simply spend a few days in the countryside.
